The Marchini family between commitment and passion

The National Academy of San Luca is presenting an ambitious project that tells the story of Alvaro Marchini and his family. Entrepreneur as well as passionate art collector, Alvaro Marchini was the founder of the prestigious Galleria La Nuova Pesa, later taken over by his daughter Simona. The exhibition unfolds across the rooms of Palazzo Carpegna, in an evocative itinerary that creates an unprecedented dialogue between the works of art on display and the historical collections of the academy. More than 130 works by 77 artists are showcased, including masterpieces by some of the greatest exponents of modern and contemporary art, such as Balla, Carrà, De Chirico, De Pisis, Magritte, Picasso, Guttuso, Manzù, and Morandi. A special section is dedicated to Simona Marchini’s new gallery, along with photographs and films. Until 22 April.
